Petey the Pelican

I  teamed up with the Mega Night Market's Peace, Food & Music Fest to paint live on-site and auction off the painting shown.

This painting is inspired by one of my recent murals. It captures the spirit of St. Petersburg with a view of the city from Tampa Bay. A majestic pelican and his pod, donning stylish shades, cruise just above the water, framed by a sunset that bathes the cityscape in warm hues.

Birds of Paradise

This painting portrays the stunning beauty of birds of paradise in their full bloom, taking inspiration from the vibrant flowers that grace our yard. Each brushstroke highlights intricate details, evoking tropical charm and natural splendor.

The Summer Shuffle

This is one of my favorite paintings to date! While playing shuffleboard at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, we witnessed a summer spectacle as a thunderstorm rolled in over Tampa Bay.

Beach Sky Before Night

Capturing the fleeting hues of twilight, 'Beach Sky Before Night' invites viewers to immerse themselves in the serene transition between day and dusk, where the soft pastel skies meet the Gulf of Mexico.

Inside Out

A wallpaper book from the 1970s, titled “Allure,” and a piece of firewood that I encountered while camping on Lake Michigan collectively inspired the series Inside Out. I chose to infuse the two by focusing on the markings that a small insect had carved into the wood, and the different patterns displayed in the book. The use of curves, bright colors, and patterns suggest the power of irresistible attraction through the cyclical process of nature.

2008 Arts in the House Exhibit Winner, A Juried Exhibition located at the House of Representatives, Lansing, MI

I was honored to be chosen for a prestigious statewide juried exhibition, representing my district among the selected artworks from each state region. My creation adorned the walls of the House of Representatives for a year, making a captivating impact in that esteemed space.

Annual School of Art Student Exhibition, DeVries Student Art Gallery, Kalamazoo, MI

Amidst a competitive field of BFA and MFA students, my artwork stood out in the juried show. The selection of two of my paintings marked a significant achievement by receiving the prestigious Eleanor R. and Robert A. DeVries Student Art Gallery Student Achievement Award.
